I took this custom order a long time ago and finally got around to making it for my very patient customer. He wanted a framelock flipper with a linerless carbon fiber scale. It is also an odd sized Jasmine with a 3 1/4" blade so I basically took a full sized jasmine and shortened it. I used a 3/16" stop pin instead of the usual 1/8". Because the CF is linerless I wanted more surface on the stop pin so it wouldn't wear with the flipping. I also used a hardened stainless steel washer under the bearings because ball bearings rolling on CF won't work. The knife feels very light and the action is great. I'm very happy with it.

Well that's another example of great craftsmanship, congratulations Ray it looks awesome!
Congratulations also to the lucky future owner.

Beautiful Ray!

My dream knife from you would be a Blast knife but with the Jasmine's stop pin instead of the blade stops/thumb studs. It would also have the R. Laconico on the spine like the Jasmine. That would look amazing!

Amazing knife!! Just curious but how did you get the washer under the bearings and still create a grove for the bearings?

Wow that is a beautiful knife right there. How may I obtain one of these beauties?

Thanks guys.

Folder geek I'm not sure I understand your question. I put a washer between the bearings and the cf so that the bearings are rolling on the washer instead of the cf. I hope this makes sense.

Sorry it was a poorly worded question. Yes your answer makes perfect sense. Two other questions please and hopefully they are not as stupid as the last. Have you been using bearings on all your knives or is something knew you are trying, and what type of bearing system are you using?

I don't want to speak for Ray but IIRC he uses GTC bearings and has used them for as long as I have been drooling over his knives.

The bearings I use are the same as the gtc bearings that they sell at Jantz but I haven't been buying them from Jantz so I'm not calling them gtc. I've been getting my bearings from Mike Vagnino and he gets them from a special source. Alpha knife supply has recently started selling the same bearings too.

Wow cool. Thanks Ray and Scurvy for the info. Sorry for the repeat question but I still am not sure if you use a bearing system on all your knives or just certain models?

Yes I use bearings on all my knives now. In the past I've used washers but now it's just bearings.

Again, thank you Ray for the info. That just makes my quest to get one of your knives stronger. I am intently watching the small jasmine list in hopes I get in for the second sign up. I know I wont see you in LV for the USN show. Maybe I'll get lucky on the exchange. Cheers
