You guys are so knowledgeable. I'm hoping you can answer a quick question. Are the Schrade Special Edition knives typically numbered? The one in question is in a tin box. Thanks!

I guess the proper question at this point is; Which special edition?

Schrade made a lot of special editions in tin boxes over the years. I am not sure that all were numbered.

Many different Schrades were packaged in "collector tins," some were numbered some were not.

Many tins were sold at the auction in 2004 and some were incorrectly filled by dealers who bought them from the two auction buyers of WIP, Smokey Mountain Knife Works and Blue Ridge Knives. Also be aware that it is not uncommon for collectors who are dispersing collections to mismatch knives, tins, boxes, pins and papers when they resell. Here is one area where clampacked tins shine. Tampering is very obvious.
