"Special Edition" Schrades

That one looks like the knives from the "Cigar Box" series...or like some they had up for sale in the short lived website store.

I have a 100th Anniversary Stockman that is similar to the one in the auction, (different blade etch, of course), and a plain (no shield) one I purchased from a member of this forum. They are both real jigged bone, and VERY nicely done.

I hope yours is as described. I think you will be pleased, as they are indicative of what a nice knife Schrade could build.

You know, someone had the cigar box series on eBay several days ago. I *thought* these knives resembled them.

FWIW, the guy has a bird knife, a trapper, another stockman, and a sharpfinger in the bone handles. I put a half-hearted bid on the sharpfinger, but I don't expect it to hold up. He seems to have sold several of the stockman knives, which are going for about $30 to $35. I paid about $32 plus $3.85 shipping.

Hope you're right about the quality El Lobo. I just paid yesterday, so it probably won't get here till end of week. I'll post a report here then.

I agree that Schrade could make some pleasing bone scales. I recently bought a TM-1 "Farmer" stockman, and the bone scales on it are quite nice.

The knife came in on Friday, and I couldn't have been more pleased. Some really nice bone scales. Good fit and finish. Not great snap, but decent/better than average. Well worth the money. If I can get a decent picture of the knife, I'll post one.

I was so impressed that I bought the bird knife from the same seller. Wish I could have picked up the Sharpfinger version in the bone, but it got a little too pricey for me.
