Special find, Grandfathers Muskrat - Help

My mother found and gifted me this old Case Muskrat. I believe was my grand father's, we know he had two knives one for work and a sunday go to meetiings knife.
I googled Case's date stamps and couldn't find an exact match with 2 dots. Any help identifying the age would put me forever in your debt. Thanks in advance.

Nice find,can't beat having your Grand fathers knife. 1978 is the date.

Bet your right about that, it does seem to have had it's share of pocket time and work. I built a small box several years ago that stores treasures such as this. I believe I'll oil it a bit and find a place for it there.
