I just aquired a pretty little Buck that I'd like help identifing.
It's a 305x but not the black one. This one has what appears to be rosewood at each end of the scale, a fine silver spacer, a little wider black spacer, silver spacer then what appears to be turquoise (or some other similar stone) in the center. The spacers are all on an angle and the stone is wider at the blade side of the knife.

The knife appears new and never sharpened, but didn't come with a box or any information. The previous owner knew nothing about it.

Could this be a Special edition or a Custom shop knife?

Any ideas what this is?

Could be a Custom, special edition or a yellowhorse.... Is there anything on the blade??? These 2 small knives that I have, have David YellowHorse on the blade... Do you have some pics??? That always helps....

Click on the pic to see it and again to make it bigger....

I doubt that this knife is anything that came out of the Buck factory. There are a number of individuals, including David Yellowhorse, who are located primarily in the Southwest that do similar custom work on these slippies.

ITE, it looks very much like the ones in your picture. There's nothing on either blade except:
Buck
305X
U.S.A.
That's on the "big" blade.

I'd love to be able to post pictures, but I'm clueless as how to do it. A few days ago on the Traditional board, I was refered to a "link" at the top of the page, but darned if I could find it. Help???

Click on POST, page down a little. See the box saying manage attachments. Click there. It brings up another screen. Click on "browse" it brings up the places where you can save pictures in your computer. Click on the picture and download. It will be ready to post with your text.

If you take a picture with a camera phone, send the picture to your email. Click on picture and instead of opening the picture hit the "save to" box. I would chose pictures as the place to save the photo. That is where you will find the picture from this website. Just click on pictures and all the photos will be displayed and can be downloaded to this website.

In the interest of timelyness it is my best opinion (80/20) that the knife described is a David Yellowhorse, as are the two in the above photo. Let me migrate to the Buck catalogs on the BCCL website (dang it, I have been meaning to buy that catalog DVD) and check which year. I think (80/20) they are pictured in one at least...might be a SMKW special if not.

"Click on POST, page down a little. See the box saying manage attachments."

I went to "post reply" and scrolled all the way down. I don't see "manage attachments". It says under posting rules that I "may not post attachments". :( Do I need to upgrade my membership?

I have a bunch of knives I'd like to post pictures of to see if folks can tell me something about them.

The knives pictured in the above photograph were first shown in the 1995 catalog under a special David Yellowhorse supplement.
I would then assume that they are legal and collectable Bucks.

Wish I could quickly help you on the photos but I use PhotoBucket free site to post pictures. You may have to upgrade.... I think he means to click on the icon directly below this post on the left hand side. Post Reply -are you clicking on that.

Yes, you do have to upgrade your membership. I would reccomend a gold membership. It is $25 per year. This is a very good forum, with very intelligent and interesting people. It is a good social forum, and by upgrading your membership, you help support the whole thing. It's funny how nice a picture of your knives, outdoor places you like, or many other topics you can discuss with a great group of folks. It is money well spent, as the enjoyment is very rewarding. Just think, the cost of a movie for two, with refreshments is about $25 or more. For that much you can enjoy yourself for a year.:)

OK, I upgraded and the attachment is here. I don't know how it will show up, but this will be a good learning experience.
