Does anyone have any experience with their folding knife sheaths? I am trying to find a new one for my older Eagle sheath? Would like as much feedback as you people can give.

Thanks,

Dan Huff

I don't have any of their sheaths for folders only for fixed blades. You might want to ask over at the Strider forum. I bet there is someone there that can help you.

Thanks for the info, I will check it out. Does SOE make the sheaths for Strider?

Thanks,

Dan Huff

DBH, SOE makes sheaths exclusively for Strider. They also make a general purpose sheath for Kbars. All of there stuff is high quality.

Thank you fq55. I have seen advertisements for their gear, but I have never seen it in person or really heard any feedback.

Thanks,

Dan Huff

Try looking at www.tripleaughtdesign.com and see what they have. I have seen some extreme sheaths that they have there for folders. Never owned any of them before.

Also, check with Eric (aka "Normark" on the forums) about making a Kydex custom sheath for your folder. He has made plenty for me and they are ALL top quality and he's a super guy.

Good luck!

Mark, thank you for the ideas. I will check them both out for a new carry method.

Thanks,

Dan Huff

Sidewinder, thank you. I just looked at their site and I will try one out. They can be carried vertically and horizontally, correct?

Yes, this is true. Although, I've only used my in the horizontal position. In the horizontal position, there are 2 velcro straps that can be adjusted to fit different belt widths. In the vertical position, there is only one belt loop that is not adjustable and will fit up to a 2 inch belt (I think)

The sheaths come in 2 sizes. Make sure that you get the right one. The small size will hold a large Sebenza snugly. The sheaths are well made and the velcro runs the full length of the sheath. The sheath doesn't fully enclose the knife, by this I mean that there is a slight opening at the bottom that you could stick a pencil through. This is by design (according to Patrick) so that you can push the bottom of the sheath with your thumb and pop out the knife. Hope this doesn't confuse you. I know I gave you more info then you asked for, but hey, that's what I would want.
I can take a picture if you want clarification.

Sidewinder, you should be a salesman! Just kidding. I appreciate your knowledge on this product, and I wil try and get hod of TAD tommorrow. The sheath does look like excellent quality. I might just have to order two:D

Sidewinder, once again, thank you for the help.

Thanks,

Ok..ok...I'll try not to get carried away here...but the TAD (Triple Aught Design) folder sheaths are my first pick in tactical / hard-use balistic nylon sheaths. If leather is your thing, gotta go G2 or a custom 2thehilt sheath.

Rigormootis, thank you for your input as well. I am going to try the TAD, and when G2's wife lets him mess up the kitchen again, I will have to have him make me up a sheath in leather.

Thank You,

Dan Huff
