Special order (kind of) Arrived !!! BIG JKM

Ten inch JKM, full tang, beautiful wood, GREAT sheath...nicely welted, and easily a quarter inch spine arrived today !!!

I've always wished HI made more substantial sheaths for the smaller knives, and I got my wish with this one.

Don't they usually come with a bolster though?

Kumar Karda has bolster and carved handle.

JKM 1 does not. Scandi style.

Similar sheath came with my first R-10 coupla days ago - very nice.

P.S. When we see those "little knives" on the periphery of the DOTD photos.... we need to remind ourselves that "little" a relative term. The R-10 is a full-size hunter's knife with a 5-inch blade. It just looks like a small accessory when pictured next to khukris.

Same here, i got one with my R-10...they are a nice little sheath, very comfortable.

Please be aware that all sizes are "OAL"(over all length) and be Sure to take into account for blade size vs. handle.
Pay close attention to size and weight on all models.

LMAO!!!.... Which is why Yangdu lists sizes and weights and why i included those statements in that thread in bold type.

I can't seem to get an image that shows it, but from spine to the beginning of the edge grind is a very shallow,fine fuller that runs from...right about where the engraving is to the end of the blade, just prior to the point grind on both sides, of course. VERY professionally done.

Make no mistake though, this is a substantial blade.
