I had a random thought today. Say I order a Sebenza from CRK with my specifications; perhaps damascus blade, unique graphic, maybe a cabochon. Would you consider that a custom knife or is it still production?

On one hand, they probably have the blades and scales already made and they just slap them together to your order. However if you order your own unique graphic so they have to machine and anodize it to your design, then perhaps it's a custom?

It's just a silly thought and kind of a moot point but I'm still curious to know your thoughts. Humor me :)

No, it's not a custom knife. It would be described as a cutomised production knife.

i consider all sebenzas semi-custom knives, despite the quantity produced.
If you order one from CRK to your specification, it's a custom knife to me.

Sounds like a special order of a production item; you're still buying a Sebenza.
