Over on the General Knife Discussion Forum there’s a thread “ creator of Magnacut “ about a video interview with SMKW and Dr Larrin Thomas that is very interesting. You need to watch it!

Near the end of the video Larrin says he is going to Buck to discuss a project involving Magnacut and a Buck knife that has some classic features with a new design… WOW ! I’m anxiously anticipating what it could be ! My heart is pounding from the excitement! Lol

In the video Larrin said,

“I am working with Buck Knives on a special model. It's a modification of earlier pocket knives that they make. So a little bit of modernization with their old school style and so I'll be coming out with that along with them in a couple months.”

This sounds like it will be a collaboration. I can't help but wonder if this will be the Stealth #003? A Vantage on bearings with Magnacut sounds really good to me.

We will have some Vantage Buildouts coming soon to the website that you can add to your collections. The Vantage is also getting some upgrades in the future. With the release of the Sprint family the Vantage took a backseat but I am excited for what's to come.

Back in mid-May Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc. gave us a tease of what's to come with the Vantage line. I'm anxious to see what they come up with.

Yes please!

A few 'special' 110's in Magnacut were sold in the factory store and since the 1,000 110 run in it sold out very quickly I think Buck has a winner no matter what model gets it next. Not many really new steels are used by Buck in the last 5-10 years so especially for collectors it IS good news..

Yo wait what. Bring it on! The Vantage is good choice. User friendly and tough. Maybe this will reintroduce the 500 Duke. Also user friendly and tough. I wouldnt be me without asking for it on a 501 Squire or two blade 301 even if it's not really necessary.

I used to be excited on new steels.....but m390 types ruined that for me....take too long to sharpen without diamonds stones.

now magnacut..I've been using it in a Buck 110 and a few other brands and knives. so far its lived up to the hype. so easy to get sharp even on ceramics. holds good edge and so far seems tough. it's what I thought s30v was gonna do when it was released hype wise, back when. it was okay...but so far magnacut seems to actually bring it all. super corrosion resistance, tough enough for a fixed blade, holds a sharp edge a very long time, and easy to sharpen. its everything Buck fans wanted bg42 to do but couldnt......

Buck could do far worse on steel choices than magnacut....but in fairness it's a bit early still, and let's see how it all plays out in a couple years

Both my 110s are boxed for the kids. It would be nice to see them offer MC in the TRX line of 110s and 112s. Also, I like updated knives, but would like to see them keep releasing original designs in new variations. I really like the new alphas, but the old design is one of myfavorite buck knives.

You'd know that MagnaCut was the new standard cutlery steel when both CRK and Buck made the switch.

I can't even sign in on the site now.

Edit: Never mind it signed me in automatically. It doesn't matter, I'm out of money anyways. 😂
