This one is a special project I`m making for stanley white, a tanto with a Kephart handle. The idea behind this one was to duplicate the handle of a "super Kephart" I made for him a while back, and utilize a tanto style blade. Blade height on this is 1 3/4" tall, 6" long, and 3/16" thick. This is my first tanto blade I`ve ever done. Not sure whether to call it a Tanhart, or a Kepto. :D I`ll be sure to post pics when it`s done early next week.

This knife is indeed going to be a beast.

John made me a Super Kephart late last year and the handle was the most comfortable design I had ever held. I liked it so much that I sent the knife back to John so that he could fully duplicate the handle in this knife.

I chose the tanto style blade for overall thickness / prying ability as well as the straight edges enable it to be sharpened more easily in the field.

The intent behind this knife is to get me back to a safe haven while working in a deployed environment. Having to walk down the mountain to safety is a definite possibility.

Additionally I sent John two sheaths from Spec Ops Brand and he is removing the liner and heating it up for a custom fit on this blade. I am excited to see / receive the finished product.

That thing will be awesome. A lot of guys don't like tanto blades for field use, but I do. If you have ever seen any of Ron Hoods videos, you can appreciate the tanto. Can't wait to see the finished knife, looks like a winner.

Here it is, just needs to have some final detail work done, and be sharpened. 6" x 1 3/4" x 3/16" thick blade, in "as forged" finish, with dark green canvas micarta handles. The top 1/3 of the blade is full thickness for strength.

Hey John, I think a Tanto version of your Scout Jr would prove popular with SWAT and Army types !!!!
