Hi,

I bought Boker Tucan Eclipse a week ago, when I got it the blade was off center, but what bothers me the most is that in 3 days time the bronze color turned into silver color, like it just came off. How is that possible? It looks like the bronze was just painted over or something. Has anybody had similar experience?

It's not a fake? Boker knives made in Solingen, Germany usually have very good quality and this one goes for over $300.

That’s a really nice looking knife!

I’ve heard that bronze ano can lose color easily when in contact with the natural oils in your hand. That being said, I think the color is supposed to turn ruddy brown, not silver.

You might try wiping down the knife with an ammonia based cleaner like old skool Windex. That will strip oils away and restore the color. If that helps bring back the bronze, it might be a matter of the ano process.

Or, as Ramzar said, you might have a less than authentic knife...

I bought it from Lamnia, I paid 350 Eur. I got certificate with production number and everything, so I dont think it is fake. It was the last one they had.
No, it turned silver. So, because of the reaction between bronze and natural oils this knife is more of a display piece. I think that for that kind of money,
this should not happen, or it should be written that it may change color when in contact with natural oils in hand.

Thanks for advice Hackenslash, I will try that, but first I must see what will they say at Lamnia.

Lamnia of Finland is a legit dealer and I’ve purchased from them several times.

To sum things up, Lamnia will take the knife back and I will get a replacement. At Boker they still had one left. I hope that this one will be ok.
