Some of you may remember that the Hiking Buddy was my first FB knife and I purchased it earlier this month.
Although I received a sheath with the knife, it just wasn't a sheath that I felt was a great match for my Hiking Buddy.
I work in an office and when in the office this sheath sets inside my front pocket. It was a bulky setup and could be somewhat difficult to remove from my pants pocket with the original sheath shown in the pic below with the new sheath.
I wanted something really slimline to fit my Hiking Buddy. I wanted it to look decent since I carried in the office but I also wanted something that I could also use in the bush or out camping where at that time it could be carried on a belt.
Problem was, keeping it streamlined for the office, a traditional belt loop would bulk it up. I decided to stitch in a small place on the back to use as a removable dangler attachment. It worked out really well.
Now I have a sheath that is a streamlined pocket sheath in the office during the week and dangler on the belt sheath for the weekend.
I learned a lot, made a couple mistakes that I will know better now as I build sheaths for my Bushcrafter, Arete and F2.
Really please with my first attempt at making a sheath. Not perfect like many of you pros but very functional, nice tight fit and doesn't look too bad for a first attempt, lol.
Oh and the new sheath may weight about 20% of what the original sheath weighted. I find my scale I will see for sure.
