I just wanted to give a shout out to the folks that make this place awesome...
I while back I posted a thread inquiring about kurkuri type objects.. as I intended to by one to play around with.. ( admittedly after watching man woman wild..throw tomatoes out me now) As usual many knowledgeable people chimed in.. Ihad about 10 people offer to send me blades to try out and 3 people offer flat out to give me a blade.. no strings attached.. THis was very touching...it made me feel like I haven;t felt in a long time...of course I couldn;t accept them all but the one I did accept is a HI 12 inch CAK generously offered up by bkduckworth... the blade arrived today and ai put it quickly to use for todays contribution in my own the skills initiative. (yes it also split that log in about 5 chops)

Thank you all for your knowledge and generosity.. and most of all for making a city boy fill like a member of a country family..

Thank you, for all you have given to this section of BF. You have taught me several things with your posts, and have shown many great pictures along the way.
 
right on RR... i love the bushcafting in the living room.. :) a big thanks back to you as well...:thumbup::thumbup: it's folks like youl, that make this forum such a great place..
 
Thats awesome.

I don't know about everyone else, but I have noticed that it isn't just WSS, but alot of the bushcraft type forum are over flowing with stuff like this.

Not all forums, but some. I think when like minded people get together like we have, we tend to form tight bonds. Even if it is over the internet.

I consider some of my internet "buddies" better friends then most I have off the net.

By the way, thanks Riley. It was you that was my first trade of any type over the net and traded me an awesome blade that is my go to bushcraft blade!
 
The big question is, do you like the CAK? Looks like a good one..
 
Very cool blade, and very cool gift! This is a good joint.

Let me know how you like the 12" khuk! I was looking into this model a while ago.
 
Thanks for the Kind words... I must say at this point I love the Khuk...But I need to get it ou int he field in order to get a real feel for it....

Awesome looking blade John, can't wait to check it out in person - you and many others in W&SS are extremely generous people so it's great to see you getting some love back. I want to add that you're very lucky man to have a wife that lets you practice bushcraft at home :thumbup::cool:
