Hi all........
I just bought a rotary rock tumbler to try to emulate the Sebenza finish on a Spyderco S30V blade (Native). I know their website (CR) mentions agressive ceramic, but I'm sure tumbling media is it's own science. Does anyone have experience trying to do this? I blew up a vibratory cleaner trying to do this before, so I went with a rotary type this time. I'm looking for specific tumbling media type.

Thanks all...........Notsharpenough

Sorry don't have answer for you, but I'm intrigued by your project. How are you going to take apart the knife to do this? The S30V Native blade is not held in by a screw. It's permanently fastened together with pin or rivet.

Commonly used in industry are pieces of ceramic ,often triangular shaped , rather than ceramic powder. They may be tumbled or vibrated often with water. Try Google.

thanks all..........
Bucktool, I used a Dremel with a cut off wheel & ground the rivet head off, & pushed remaining rivet through other side. I ordered a pivot pin from Knife Kits ( I believe). The pivot is i.d. threaded with 2 torx screws. Cut the pivot to length, & each screw same length so the heads would flush the pivot barrel.

Thanks notsharpenough,
Please post some pics of your finished work, if it's not too much trouble. A stone washed finish on a S30V Native sounds cool.
