i have sorta narrowed down my choice to these 2 packs,
i really want to buy the speops becuase i like it a lot but the only reason why i haven't & why i have a alternative is the shoulder straps &
waist strap look tiny (puny, weak even) & uncomfortable compared to the motherlobe.

The motherlobe looks like shoulder/waist paradise!! it has a big thick padded waist strap & the shoulder straps look heavily padded & contoured.

specops look like 2 cheap flimsy straight straps, the waist strap is just a strap, no padding!!, all the straps look painful!
what i have seen & read about the specops in terms of build quality is that it is exceptional, but i cant understand these straps.

has anyone used these 2 both & would care to comment which they liked better & why??

or could those of you who have the speops THE pack, comment on the comfort of the straps.

any other comments are welcomed.

thanks all! :)

I'm not familiar with the Specops pack, but all the Camelbak products I have (including the Motherload) are top quality.

Check out the pack straps on the Spec Ops Brand pack real closely.

The original models of "T.H.E. Pack" had straight straps that would not contour to your body.

Unless they changed the strap design I would go with the Camelbak.

Quality / build wise I would put them as equal.

Any particular reason you are going with the heavy duty paramilitary packs? If there is, then I would go with the Camelbak.

BUT, if that isn't an issue, I would look into the Deuter ACT lite 40+10 (e.g. up to 50L). It will have more capacity (Camelbak is 37L), is lighter, and I guarentee it will have a more comfortable harness system. And the shoulder straps are adjustable to your back length.
If that isn't exactly what you are looking for, they have a ton of options in different load capacities. Check out there website.

Just thought I'd bring it up as another option, if you were more worried about comfort than camouflage.

I have had both, and like the spec ops version better. You can see on the inside and it isn't stiff, yet is still durable.

I agree with Joe. I have used both. But the pack is my choice. I had mine since 2003 Iraq and its been through hell
