I was curious if you guys new if the Handle thumb break for the spec-ops modular knife sheath was a velcro style. I am looking at maybe purchasing one of these for one of my kabars but i can not tell if its velcro or not nor does it mention it on the website www.specopsbrand.com. If anyone has any info or owns one that can shed some light on this for me i would appreciate it.

I have one of their combat master sheaths and it secures with a snap. The picture is misleading because it has a Velcro length adjustment that covers the snap in the pictures. The Velcro is just for adjusting the length of the strap and does not provide additional retention. I modified mine to fit the one knife I carry in the sheath and got rid of the extra webbing and the Velcro.

Thanx that is good to know i am ordering that puppy along with a large outside molly pouch any suggestions?

If you put too large of a pouch on a sheath it just wants to catch on things and swing around. Have you considered the Combat Master model? The built in gear pouch holds essential items without being too bulky. It's also cheaper than buying individual items.

Here's mine. I modified it to ride higher and got rid of the adjustment velcro on the retention strap.

Dosent the A1's tip make contact with the little screw at the very bottom of the Combat Master sheath?

I just got an A1 and im looking to buy a quality sheath for it, but id like to hear how the Combat Master fits the A1?

+ 1 on the Spec Opps Combat Masters sheath. I got one for my Gerber LMF. I love it, very tough and well made. Lots of mounting options, good size pouch. The screw does not hit the blade on mine.
