Just on the verge of jumping into the Busse-pit for the first time.
Just can`t seem to make up my mind as to buying the BWM or the Battle Mistress( or atleast one of the models).
Could someone help me out with some pros or cons between the two knives.
Maybe even a comparrison of the different models.
I would sure appreciate the help here, struggeling to decide, and I can only afford one of them for now.

Thanks Ron, I`ll check it out.
If anybody else has pics, advice or anything, bring it on. lol

Would really love to have the FFBM and see it prized at about the same as the BWM on the BUSSE collector website, but I son`t think I will ever find one at that price, lol.
Anyone else want to chime in with some ideas and maybe you guys who own several different Battle Mistresses would tell me a little more about them (maybe even some pictures too)...

Thread has been moved, and is now residing in Busse Combat knives forum, Ron.
But thank you anyways...

Hey Bobber...

I have the BWM and I could tell you that I love that knife. It's a little thinner, and lighter which makes it a faster knife in hand, in my opinion. I've used the NMFBM as well, and I like that a lot too, but there's just something about the BWM that I REALLY like. Here's a pic of mine (I stripped it and semi-finished it myself, then had Norcalblacktail put a convex edge on it for me).

That`s a real beauty Evil Monkey.....
Think maybe I`ll end up with the BWM, causae they seem to be the easiest to get hold of...
But there`s just something about that FFBM and the brutality of it that appeals to me, lol.....
Any morer input, anyone????
I know there are a lot of "hoarders" in this here forum, LOL

I have a cgfbm which i love, its what got me interested in busse to begin with, but you cant go wrong with a bwm for the price you can get them for, i would try to look for one with the competition finish. You didnt mention the b11 but that is cheaper than the bwm and has resc handles which are nice!!

Hey drbarnes, Have been looking at it , but they are just nothing like the "real" thing, lol....
Keep the good things comming, I really need all the advice I can get.

By the way, if I should buy a Busse here in Norway, I`d be having to pay $2500 for the Steel Heart!!!!!!!!!!!
Prices up here are really crazy.
So I guess my contact will be this forum and the trade & sale section, LOL...

 $2500 should get you a MOAB! I'd recommend a FFBM or CGFBM over the BWM. It's worth the price difference.

It`s just one shop here in Norway selling Busse, so they charge whatever they want,,
Nothing I can do about it other than getting my BUSSE from USA, and then go down there to tell them how much I had to pay. And then maybe laugh a little of them, haha

I had a FBMLE with a clip added and hand shaped mags. I convexed the edge. It was a wicked chopper. Thick full flat grind. .32. The full flat grind lightened up the front so it was more neutral in the hand (still a heavy beast at that weight). I sold it to purchase two others (KZII cg and I can't remember which other piece of infi).

The Bwm's are much lighter in hand, and in my opinion, a better general purpose knife. They have a reasonable spine thickness for slicing, general food prep chores.

The thickness of the FFBM .32 combined with the saber grind means they are a front heavy beast. That makes for more forward power and better out right chopping, but less utility for other chores.

I really like the handle's on the bwm's. They fit the hand well, have a great thickness. I liked the handle on the fusion battle mistresses as well.

The BWM's are still, technically Mistresses. They are simply Bush Whacker Mistresses. The other versions are Fusion's, and Nuclear Melt down fusion battle mistresses, or Fat Fusion Battle mistresses. OOOH, and don't forget about the straight handled battle mistresses, and the ergo handled battle mistresses.

Good luck finding what you want. Just browse the exchange on here regularly and you will find a great deal on what you decide you want!

You can't go wrong with the BWM because it is BUSSE, but it's clear that the (more expensive) FBM/FFBM/NMFBM will dominate in comparison when chopping.
I reach for my NMFBM 75% of the time when chopping because it's heft allows it to bite so much deeper. Saves a lot of time.
I would also consider checking out the Scrap Yard Dogfather if price is an issue. (10 inch blade for around $200)

Yep, there's a few...and I'm one of them. But as much as I like FBM's/BWM's of all flavors, I sold all but 3 of my FFBM's. I much prefer the FBM's & NMFBM's along with the newer BWM's and B11's.

Here's a very old pic of my FBM stash...

All but 2 in this pic are still with me, 4 of my LE's arrived after I took this shot, none of my FBM variants are represented here, nor my prototypes...and I've picked up a few more since. :)

(and yes...that is one of my cats. ;) She's always had a thing for my Mistresses. :D)

Good Hunting!!

Thanks guys, this makes me want the INFI even more....
Keep it comming, I learn every minute in here....

Here's a CGFBM with magnums G10, BWM CF with micarta not sure what they call it on BWM, and a B11 for comparison. In hand you will notice a substantial difference between the CGFBM and the other two. The CG is much heavier in the front end, therefore it has less balance. It, the CG also hits much harder than the other two. I've used it the most by far and it is an absolute must have, though the other two are much more comfortable in hand and in use.

It much easier to get them all than to decide or at least that is what I have decided. I hope this helps. Good luck and start with the one that appeals to you the most. You won't be disappointed with whichever one you decide.

I also live in Norway, in Drammen actually, and I just wondered which shop that was selling Busse blades. Hope you find what you are looking for!
