Specs for current M43

Greetings,

I ordered an M43 from HI and I´m currently kinda confused about the specks, espeally about the blade thickness.

I googled my way trough the web and some pages said the blade sickness is about 1/4 inches, others said 3/8 inches and there were also pages which said its about 7/18 inches.

So... what is the thickness of the current M43 model?

I would be really happy about your answers :)

Hello Dan,

The specs are dependent on which kami makes it. They should all fall into similar specs with variation, but not always.
If you wish for an exact size X weight ratio the best thing to do is Email Auntie with your preferred specs and see if she has one. You can also wait for one that fits to show up in a sales DOTD or you may see about having one made "special order to your specs.
 
I allready ordered my M43 ;) ( they will be available again in 4 - 5 weeks ) i just dont want to annoy Auntie again ( I allready had like a thousand questions ^^ )

Are the current models also from 1/4 inches to 7/16 inches, depending on the kami?

If it would has a blade thickness like 3/8 inches I would be a 100% satisfied.

There now is a regular M-43 and a smaller variant being produced, please make sure of what you are looking at.
These are questions that you will have to ask Auntie. Specific Questions are not annoyances, they are part of business as usual and are welcomed.
The only time a question becomes an annoyance is when it has to be repeated or is something covered here on the forum. ;)
Even if it is an annoyance, we are happy to help. Any customer is welcome to contact either Auntie or any HI moderator with questions.
I wish I could be more helpful, but when I'm unsure I will always defer to Auntie.

I've not seen many M43's but everyone I saw was at least 3/8'' thick minimum. Usually a tad more I'd say.

Trying to remember who here has an M43. I know Slugger does, bunches of them floating around, sadly I don't have one myself.......yet.
 
My ears were burning . . . here are some measurements from mine:

Thickness at the buttcap .110
bolster .254
shoulder .333
lower spine .216
just ahead of the tip taper .195

3/8 = .375 so mine is just a hair under but what's 42 thou between friends? She's a beauty, I think you'll be a happy camper!

Hey Bawanna, yeah I'm still around. Just stopping in a little more infrequently. Still working on my KLVUK from time to time. I've been working some weekends. Some willingly and some not so much . . . time goes too quickly. I should be spending more time swinging the Kuk!

Ha, yeah you're gonna need to fill out your TPS reports.

It beats looking for work but grates on me.Weekends are for emergency catch up days, they've been making them production days . . . . while "they" are home with their own families.

Im quite sure its about 18 inches + - an half inch depending on kami.
