Thought this would be a good way to keep 90lb tensil strength Spectra waxed thread on the keychain. Small thread reel, 160ft of waxed spectra thread, small piece of bike tube, split D ring, Victorinox sm. split ring, (2) small berkley clips. What do you think?

Waxed cord knots really well and the wax helps keep water out (important if you are using a natural fiber.) Were it me, I would probably use dacron whipping twine instead, but just because I'm used to it and it's cheaper.

How much weight does the tiny reel rig add?

I've taken to wearing a sport coat lately, with the advent of very warm to hot weather.

Sport coat pockets just won't bear the kind of weight jacket pockets will.

Hence, I've been forced to lighten up.

not much weight at all ... I'll weigh it on a mailing scale tomorrow. Waxed was the only way the spectra thread came. I bought some black spectra thread from shomer-tec and it came the same waxed way.
