What's with the Specwar? Though I don't own one yet, I am planning on getting one soon, but they sure don't seem to get a whole lot of press. Understandably, they were way overshadowed by the Commander. I love my Commander too, but would still like to get a Specwar. What is the concensus on them? For those of you that have used them, are the handles as comfortable as they look?

I like the specwar handle in reverse grip, while my commander is my prefered sabre grip slasher. If you want a Specwar, hurry up and call extreme outfitters and get a SOFCK. It is a refined version of the Specwar. I really like mine (Commander is still my favorite production knife, though).

The SPECWAR is a great knife. The handle really being what the "great" is all about.

I agree that the Specwar doesn't really get much recognition. It seems most people have larger hands because they are always mentioning that the handle doesn't fit their hand very well. I. on the otherhand, think it is a great design and the handle fits me well. I think the single best feature of the design is that the handle incorporates a sort of guard, rather than having traction notches on a wedge on the blade. I also like to blade profile of the tanto that I own. It seems to be a bit narrower in width than my CQC7, and the fit and finish are superb. I also think that they should all be made withe the wave feature. Overall, a great knife that deserves more recognition.

I like the Specwar. I've only had one for about 2 hours now

, but I ordered it because I liked the handles on the SOFCK so much.

Very comfortable and secure.

I have also found (albeit quite quickly) that the Specwar is a bit more manageable sizewise than the Commander.

Hey guys!

I know the Specwar is the SOFCK with a wave. But isn't it true that they will only sell the SOFCK to LEOs and the military?

Why would you want a SpecWar when you can have one of these?

This is the SOFCK - otherwise known as the Specwar with a Wave.

After looking at the Emerson website, there seems to be no blade style like the drop point SOCFK. The raven, cqc 7a, and the specwar all have a grind on the top of the blade. I kinda like mine with the drop point blade, more simple.
