On the speed bump model, when you flip the index flipper, is the blade supposed to automaticaly open swiftly into an open & locked position ?

The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
Does the failure to lock seem like it is because of the blade not opening smoothly, or is it caused by the resistance of the thumbstud locking?
If its the thumbstud does it move smoothly and freely in its keyway (or whatever that groove it is mounted in is called)?
As I just posted in another thread if you rest your thumb on the back edge of the stud and just slide your thumb forward along the scale, the blade will open. No need to follow the blade out at all, your thumb never needs to leave the scale. Interestingly, when I am getting ready to open the Spec Bump this way, my index finger is wrapped around to the clip and actually resting partly on the flipper. If I just squeeze my index finger a little the knife will also flip open. No need to use the fingertip on the flipper at all.
This works with my Speed Bump, Spec/Speed Bump and Spec Bump.
Offsetlover, I believe the Offset, the Spec and Speed Bumps all have two torsion bars. I guess if something was wrong with one you wouldn't have as much speed.
Which way did you mean, to open with, thumbstud or flipper?
There's a pic posted on the other thread of the way my hand is positioned.

Guys why didnt you tell me about the little screw (on-off) -LOL-![]()
on the side of the handle ! I was lubing the knife trying to see the problem when I noticed the tiny writing (on-off) on each side of the allen screw. It was set to the on position so I set it to the off position & now it works AWSOME !!!!
