Speed Bump corrosion/discoloration?

Hello all

I bought a Speed Bump earlier this year.

Overall I like the knife, but the blade seems to develop small, faint, orange spots. They don't show up on the sharpened portion of the blade, just the satin-finished part. I don't ever let it progress, and take it off using a bit of honing compound (tried using a green scrubbie, but it marred the finish somewhat).

I'm a canoe camper, so it's not unusual for me to be in somewhat damp environments. I take good care of my knives, and have carried other (lesser quality) knives and do not have any problems like this. I do oil the blade, but I'm still getting this corrosion.

Like I said, it's not on the sharpened portion of the blade, so it's probably cosmetic, but it drives me batsh$# when I see it.

Anyone else experience this?

Any comments welcome

Thanks

Brian
