well, i got my Speed Bump in the mail... first impressions
The good:
This is a BIG knife, but still thin enough to fit perfectly in my pocket. If someone were to ask me "what is the biggest pocket knife you could carry comfortably" i'd point at this one
It came SCARY sharp. It's sharp enough to feather a walmart receipt. I'm pretty sure it's sharper than my Needs Work was new
The G10 scales are AWESOME... they are firm as hell on the grip, but not uncomfortable. The overall width is a good bit thinner than my Needs Work... i LOVE that.
The detail work on this knife is superb for $36, and i'd have been happy with it had it cost 80...
The Bad:
The Speedsafe is nowhere NEAR as snappy as on my NW, and if you don't activate it with a GOOD push, it doesn't open all the way... probably caused by the bigger, heavier blade.
The UGLY: I HATE the clip on this thing. It's too long, WAY too tight, and the profile doesn't allow it to be put on my jeans easily. This is by FAR the biggest drawback on an otherwise great knife. I'd take a dremmel to it, but i'm afraid i'll void my warranty.
Summary: Is this really a $36 knife? It seems like a MUCH more expensive folder than the asking price. Get one while they last.
