What do you guys think of this knife (kershaw speed bump)
I'm a lefty so is this knife going to work for me ?
What are the pro & cons of this knife ?
Any inf would be nice thanks .

CoalDigger,
I have a Speed Bump and am also a lefty. The ergonomics on this knife are set up well for lefties. The auto assist safety lock is located between the spine and pocket clip. Easily accessed by the left hand thumb. Carry is tip down with the blade facing the rear of the left pocket. A safe set up. My only "complaint" is that the handle material has a "tacky" feel. Good in the hand but it tends to "grab" at the pocket material when drawing the knife. Blade lock/unlock is achieved by the thumd studs which are amibidextrious. For me, I favor right hand carry simply because I always use my left pocket for car keys, change and lighter. Adding a knife just gets in the way. I find the knife takes less of a beating in the right pocket. But as far as knives go, this one is set up well for lefthand carry.

yup...it gets hemmed up in the pocket when taking it out.....great knife once its in the hand but i will still carry my benchmade stryker or ZT0200 before that one

I feel you on the handle issue. I have the Akulon/rubber model and it doesn't distinguish between my pocket and my hand as far as grip is concerned. Solution: get an aluminum handled version or get the Spec version.

Thanks guys for the info but I think I'll stay with the spyderco line.
I'm just going to get the NATIVE !:D

The native or the Bump would be a great choice. I love both of mine. I havent had an problems with my bump sticking in my pocket. But i carry my knives in my back pocket.

how do the bumps do with pocket lint, dust , grit, sand , ?
Thats my main concern is function in a harsh enviroment .

It's a great knife if you like a heavy recurve and assisted opening. I was able to get one of the Speed/Specs with the G10 scales and Sandvik 13C26 blade and I have been very happy with it. The clip is right side tip down only, but the operation of the knife is totally ambidextrous. The internal workings are sealed up by the full liners, so lint and grime are not much of a concern. If you do intend to use it heavily, you might consider getting the Spec with the S30V blade for better edge retention. The G10 scales on the Spec are another valuable improvement, great grip in the hand, but without the grabbiness of the rubbery scales on the Speed.
