I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but this is some of the best auto-racing competition around, IMO.

I'm watching the Lime Rock races now, and You couldn't ask for more competitive, paint-swapping, tight racing. The organization makes every effort to keep things tight and competitive, with winners getting added weight to deal with after each race.
This makes for a very tight field, and the series is fought out on some of the most famous road courses in the country.

They're a cool bunch of guys, too. I met many of those teams personally back when they used to run in the BMW CCA Club Race series. Very friendly bunch.

It's also great fun to watch REAL cars on REAL tracks. I have little interest in formula cars and oval tracks. Modern F1 circuits are only marginally better: designed for good TV coverage instead of exciting racing. That means no more elevation changes, etc. :thumbdn:

As much as I love rally, the original poster was referring to wheel-to-wheel racing. Rally is awesome in it's own right ... but it's different.
