Hey everyone. Does anyone have any information about speed tech knives? Any experiences with them? I tried to find a website but didn't have any luck. Any info will be greatley appreciated. Thanks again.

Last I heard they were going out of business but I never heard anything after that. They did have a website at one time which was really cool as you could select the specs of your blade and a pic of 'that' knife would be shown in the process. Quite cool! But if they did go out of business I'm sure that is gone by now. There are still some that come available in the 'exchange' but it is rare. Might try posting in 'knives wanted' and see what kind of response you get. I'm sure someone else out there might have info on them as well. Anyone?

Did they go out of business? I thought Jim told me they were all just very busy with their other jobs, but no mention of going outta business. Man, I gotta get another Speed-Tech while I still can.

Their web page seems dead... Damn, they used to make awesome knives. My Synergy is one of my favorites....

Oh, the information and experiences ... that was the question.

The uniqueness of SpeedTech was that you could "assemble" your knife on their web page. The blade shape, polish, handle color, engraving and some minor details were all configurable.

The other interesting part is that the handle (aircraft aluminium) was machined out of one piece of metal, i.e. there are no screwes holding handle together or anything like that.

The blade styles were: modified tanto and swept (I got the swept one).

The model they manufactured this way is called Synergy. It is a very good quality knife. I love how it fits in the hand. The action is one of the slickest out there.

I am sure that if you do search BF threads you will find more info and pictures of Synergy.

I talked to Jim on Friday. They did shut it down. The upside is he has some parts and can put together knives.Email me with your number and I will pass it on to Jim.I do not want to post it in a public forum.

That's too bad! The SpeedTech is a great knife and it was great doing business with Jim. The Synergy was my daughters first knife and its really an unique piece.

Hello everyone!

Thanks for your concern & kind thoughts.

As of the 1st of the year, my partners & I have decided to suspend all operations at SPEEDTECH.

Obligations at our "day" jobs prevent us from devoting further time & resources to develop the company and introduce new products.

This decision, although difficult, is the logical and sensible one from a business standpoint.

Our journey into the knife world was an eventful one. We brought a truly innovative product to the market and were fortunate to make many friends along the way.

My deepest thanks to everyone who supported SPEEDTECH, whether it was advice & help on making knives, or simply just a kind word.

And to those who have purchased our knives, many more thanks and we hope that they bring you a lifetime of service & enjoyment.

Stay sharp!

Jim

Is there anything that can be done to bring Speed-tech back? They made truly amzing knives. If it was too much to do as a second job, maybe a full-time person could be hired. I know I am grasping at straws, but I hate to see such an incredible company go belly up.
