Speedsafe, dirty jobs, and cleaning Q

I have several Kershaw speedsafe models and had a question for other users. I typically use my Kershaws only for light tasks. For dirty, messy, or wet jobs I typically use my lockbacks or framelocks because they are easy to clean. I usually wash and rinse the same way I'd clean a regular kitchen knife. They're also easier to dry and lube due to less moving parts and the open design.

I do love my ZDP/Ti Mini-cyclone but I'm hesitant to clean it in this fashion becasue of all the nooks and crannies due to the speedsafe mechanism and the fear of the torsion bar rusting (I also avoid using Axis locks for similar reasons). Do any of you guys treat the speedsafes just like any other lock without any problems? I know you can take them apart for regular cleaning, but it is undoubtedly more time consuming compared to more conventional locks/mechanisms.

I don't mind taking the extra bit of time to clean an AO.
Honestly, I've done it so much I can take an AO down, clean
it, lube it and put it back together in about 5 mins.
It's just part of owning one. They're well worth it IMHO.
Just as in taking the time to clean and maintain a firearm.
And yes, I treat them like any other non AO's I have.

I clean mine on a fairly regular basis...read: When I see pocket lint build up or I've used them for some dirty job and I can see it. They're not hard to disassemble, clean, polish, lube and re-assemble. Don't be afraid to tear em down and clean em up!

i was hesitant at first because of the AO on off switch but i actually learned the fine and fun art of cleaning on my ZDP cyclone and since i use mine every day i have to clean it every week or so
