Just came back from Cabelas. Picked up a Sharpmaker for $32.95! It was missing one of the fine white stones. I still think I got a good deal though. Is it necessary to have two of the fine stones or can I operate the Sharpmaker with just one of them? Dumb question I know, but this is my first sharpening system. I would RTFM but promised my wife I wouldn't open it till Christmas. :o
 
Sure, you can use the one side method. Sharpen one side, then move the stone to the other slot and sharpen the other side. It's what I do with some of my ZDP blades, raise the burr on one side and the remove it with the other.
