Question about the Spencer Alan Reiter knives. Are the two holes in the balde there for alternative gripping options? Weight savings? . I have been spending a fair amount of time checking into his knives lately, and would just like to know. It looks like I will have the opportunity to handle the Hornet Recurve sometime in the indeterminate future.

They do two things one is they provide alternate grip options, and help balance the blade out.
