I'm Spencer Aplin and I've been making custom knives for 22 years. I use S90V, CPM 154, S125V, and S35VN for my blades. I use Micarta, Ivory, and Stabilized wood for my handles. Here are some of my latest knives.

This is a skinner, blade is S90V, handle is Hippo Ivory, and Spacer is Ancient Walrus Ivory.

Here's one of my fillets. It has a S35VN blade heat treated to 59RC by Paul Bos Heat Treating with Tiger Shark Teeth etched in. The handle is Blue Stabilized wood. The guard is hand carved and textured.

Spencer,
Great article in June's Blade Magazine about your Skinner. Kim Breed did a great job evaluating your knife. It looks beautiful and functions even better. It doesn't get better than that.
Thanks for your support.
Bob

I agree about the Blade article. Breed heaped more praise on your knife and its performance than most others. You absolutely have a distinctive good style that performs.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I was absolutely thrilled with the article, couldn't have asked for better. Kim Breed is the bomb!

I'm working on getting a website built so folks can see all the types/styles of knives I do, but for now my Facebook page is my portfolio. These are my latest creations, and feedback would be appreciated.

Bulldog - Nickel Silver carved bulldog head butt cap with genuine ruby eyes and 14K gold earring; California Buckeye handle carved with the dog's torso muscles; Nickel Silver guard engraved by Raul Hinz; S35VN blade with Mad Dog's eyes acid etched into the blade.

Keep working at it! Concentrate more on grinding skill less on handles!
