Maybe some of you read a letter in the October 2015 Blade Magazine titled "High-Quality $30 Knives?"

The writer was searching for a "high-quality folding utility-blade knife at a low price." He wrote, "I have purchased over 20 different types of utility-blade folders..all less than $30."

Well, I can do that math pretty easily. Instead of spending $600 on 20 cheap knives, he could have spent $410 on one large Sebenza and had almost $200 bucks left.

As a knife knut named Sheldon told me long ago, "Buy quality, and only cry once."

I'll be interested to hear the tune he's singing on down the road. To quote Phillip Patton, "the bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price has gone."

Buck makes some quality blades in the 30 dollar range,so do Victorinox. The 110 folding hunter sometimes retails for less than 30, got mine 10 years ago for 10 bucks the day after Christmas. Your not going to get the quality of a CRK for sure, but they're doable.
I am going to get a Sebenza when I get to go back to work, after a tough year I think I deserve a quiet indulgence and it will be used EDC. I'm not kidding myself though, I've done just fine with Victorinox and Wenger. I never had any break, but only lost. Present blade has had lots of use the past 7 years and still works great.
Someone bpught 20 different blades? Some people can't be satisfied. I bet he wouldn't be satisfied with a Sebenza. I have 3 knives. 2 SAK's, the previous mentioned 7 year and one I bought recently for different tools, and the folding hunter.

I wish I could settle for 1 good edc and 1 good camp knife and 1 good hunting knife. But I have several of all and plus multiple of other styles. Lol. It's a disease for sure.

I hope I didn't come off as insulting. Hobbies are great and knife collecting is great. I've always been amused with knives and how it's such a personal tool. That and the fact this is one of the few boards on the web that keep trolls at bay is the reason I hang out.
