Got these in this morning. These are all here for some grooving and textured grip, bead blasting, resharpening, and for copy standard style pocket clips all anodized blue.

I'll get to these in a few. Just documenting that they are here and arrived safely.

Thanks Gary. Somehow I get the idea you like the Lava their Gare. :D

Seriously, stay tuned. Check back in a day or two and there should be something up for progress on these.

Hi Steve

I do like the Spyderco Lava. I saw the mod you previously did on one and knew it would take the knife one step closer to perfection.

One of the 3 is for a Christmas gift and the other two are for me (one to carry now and one to put away for the future).

I'm really looking forward to getting them.
Thanks
Gary

I plan to make some real headway on these tomorrow. I started another Ouparator this morning but have not even started the thread for it yet.

He technically is ahead of you but I did tell him he'd be lucky to have it by Christmas. So since I told you I'd get them back to you I'm going to get on it for you. I think it will take me more than tomorrow to get it all done but I'll be ok. If I have my way they'll be on their way back to you finished up by Monday morning.

Ok. As planned I got a good start on these today to finally reach a break point.

We'll see how they look after bead blasting next. Then I'll have to resharpen the blades and mount the low rider clips I am going to be installing on each one.

These scans never quite show the subtle details of the way these look but once I get the final digitals up hopefully it can be more fully appreciated.
Stay tuned.

These are all finished and will go out in the mail tomorrow morning. By the way the scratch marks on the far right are from scratches on my flat bed scanner bed. Its not the knife.

They look fantastic. I can't wait to get them. I know someone who will be very happy to receive one of these over the holidays. Thanks again.

Ok all fixed up now with some urban camo for ya.

Steve - The Lavas arrived safely in the afternoon mail. I had high expectations based on the many posts in your forum and you do not disappoint.

The knives are now on a par with my William Henrys in the looks department only a heckuva of a lot more solid. Great job!

I'm looking forward to many years of EDC with mine and I know the guy getting one of them over the holidays is going to be mighty pleased with his.

Thanks again.

Glad you got em and glad you like even more than that.

Have a happy holidays.

Those are some really beautiful LAVA'S you have created !

I have a new LAVA on it's way to me now, I was wondering if the LAVA beautification project was still ongoing?

My only problem would be DECIDING between texture / micarta / G10 ? I Definitely want one of those CLIPS! :D

I'm the guy with the 3 Lavas that Steve did. Gave one to a friend, put one away, put a skull lanyard with tritium eyes (I know, I know) on the 3rd and carry it every day. Great looking, great handling knife.

I can't wait for mine to arrive, I was torn between the LAVA and Native III, but in the end the coolness of the LAVA won :)

The stainless steel handles were my only real concern, but I am seriously leaning towards asking STR to give it the "Textured" treatment, that just looks darn nice IMHO, and with the Low in pocket Jeans colored clip it just may be the perfect EDC.

For a while I had both the Native and the Lava. I much prefer the Lava over the Native. There's something about the grip ergonomics on the Lava that just doesn't exist for me on other small knives.

I really like the grooved and textured treatment Steve performed but I think it would look good in other grips as well. Be glad you got the Lava when you did. I seem to recall Chad (the designer) telling me in an email recently that it might not be around much longer.

Enjoy your knife, you're going to love it!

them "grooved" Lavas look awesome
my Lava got the special STR burgundy micarta treatment ;)
