Purchased some glitter at Wally, to use as spice bottles, for my Altoids tin. Named them, and added the spices. Not my idea, got it from BCUSA:
I cut a piece of that rubbery no slip stuff, to match the bottom of the tin, for a sound killer, but also for thickness. Then, cut another piece, like an hourglass, to have a thick bottom, but also so I would have one solid piece, opposed to a piece you would have to remove completely. Holds the bottles in nicely, and prevents rattling:
I made the top part a little longer, to tuck in at the end:
Covers them nicely:
I also purchased a jar stack pack, at the local farm store. It was in the fishing section. I show the label, only for size purposes:
Also labeled each, and added the spices. Holds way more than the Altoids kit, but, of course the trade off is it's larger to carry:
Lucked out, and found this pouch at Wally. It didn't have a price, and they couldn't find one, so the guy sold it to me for $6. Next to my camera case for size comparison:
It's made to hold shells, hunting license, etc:
Reverse:
Gonna make a kitchen set/spice kit out of it too. Cheapo spork, and pot lifter added. Altoids tin fits in it like it was made for it:
The shell holders, will also hold the small bottles perfectly, as there was one left over that wouldn't fit in the tin. Lighter, eating tool, salt and pepper shaker, and tea and sugar packets in the license holder:
As a whole. Of course, there are many options here:
Although the pocket is slightly large, the spice pack fits in the outside pocket:
And closes easily:
All in all, not a bad little kit for $9, plus spices. Thanks for looking.
