Has anyone tried it yet? Is it d/a or is the hole just for show.if so I don't like that it should be a d/a if they have the spidy hole. I would buy it right away if it is.is it smooth?fast? Bladeplay? Lockup?how does it feel in hand? Leer spring or spring? Safety?

there is a thread here about one of there switchblades an how they refuse to fix it. I would look for that tread and read it before buying one of them.

Both the Embassy and the Citadel are locking single action autos. The hole is there because it's a Spyderco :) I have an Embassy, and it's very solid.

I don't think auto's are legal in your state, unless you are hunting or fishing while in possession.

I saw one at a gunshow recently. It was cool, but not really my cup of tea. Quality was definitely there.

To be clear we did not refuse to fix the knife in question. We refused to violate federal law. Richard please don't try to stir the pot again.

what?? I am telling the truth. I am not going to spend that kind of money on a as is knife. if you are going to sell it then I think you should make sure that the buyer knows about the federal law is and why you can't do something about it because of the federal law.

What does it matter? Spyderco didn't sell the knife you're talking about. It was bought from a retailer. Let it die dude.

Both are nice and solid and have Spyderco's excellent ergonomics. Don't really have a lot to compare them to, for speed, but I'd say they both fire pretty hard.

Brand is not the issue, Federal Law is. It's definitely something worth keeping in mind, but if you're not an LEO or in the military and you buy any automatic, you are basically "on your own" and ignorance of the law is no reason to bash a manufacturer. You may be able to return it to the dealer, who in turn can return it to the maker, have it repaired and shipped back to them, then return it to you, but no manufacturer will return an automatic to a private citizen across state lines. I can tell you for a fact that another auto manufacturer would not even sell me a replacement "glass breaker" clip screw for one of theirs.

and that is the reason I refuse to spend that kind of money on any high end auto. I rather just buy a kershaw leek that will take care of you and they are a heck of alot cheaper.

Good for you.

Spyderco auto's are very nice. All S/A.
Great price too!
