What the hell is a pre-heattreat knife doing in the gallery you might wonder. Well, I've been thinking about this design for awhile and the day job relinquished its deathlike grip on me for a couple of hours today and...well, dammit, I'm just excited about this one 9" OAL, 5" blade, double ground and double edged D2...

Yowza...Nice...I like it!
I'm playing knife today, first time in a long time. I'll try to post a photo later this weekend of what I've been working on last night and this morning. You "may" note a similarity between your spike and my project. Erie. (actually it's the spy satellite). My grind is more conventional, though. I'll use scales, too. Looks like The Spike will have a bare steel handle?

Speaking of heat treat, I'm waiting for a certain folder blade to arrive back here. I also have to buy some materials. Financial crisis...this just went from hobby status to self-supporting hobby status. Gotta sell some more knives!
