A good friend of mine kept hinting how much he liked one of my older style tomahawks so I went ahead and made one. Now to see if he still likes it. This one was forged from 1" square 1084/95.....

Now that is a Tomahawk :D How do you glue your Turk's Head knotts and not make them look glued? I tried one and all i got was a shiny glue glob looking thing

Doc, This last batch of hafts I got from Rade Hawkins. He's got fancy and extra fancy. This one is extra fancy. Between the two there apples and oranges. These were 5 bucks extra but they don't look like they came from the same planet. I just ordered some from a different place last week and hope to get them in the next couple days. I'm thinking its the same place that Rade gets his.

Terry, I do glue mine. What works the best is to use the slow set super glue gel. Put the glue where you want it to end up and work the turks head into place. I couldn't find my slow set last week and used the regular. Its to fast, I ended up cutting off a 1/4" off the end of the haft. With the regular super glue and the leather I do the braid out of it acts pretty much the sameway it does on your skin.

that is really cool! you have some of the best hawks ive ever seen. so how do you get that finish on the blade? do you just forge it,HT, then take a bit of sandpaper to it to get the scale off?

Ray I don't know how anyone can improve on perfection but you just keep raising the notch. That is just truly fine. All I can say beyond that, is just remember - I'm your new best friend! :D Thanks for sharing, that made my day.

To my new best friend Dave, the difference between a good friend and a best friend is the good friend usually has money....... :D This one is heading to Arizona today...

 "Money"?

:D

It's found a fine new home I'm sure. Keep it up man, one of these days my $$ tree will fruit too. :D
