i have never seen any of these posted here, so thought i would share my two.
they are a 735 and a 635 (i think, it has Schrade Walden NY USA Stainless on the blade).
the holder came with it but am pretty sure it was not provided by Schrade.

Nice examples there Delmas, and a great thread!

Chuck, the spike is used in ropework for line splicing, knot loosening, etc.
Did you know the marlin is named after the marlinspike? (not the other way around).

Here are a few more; from the top,
Schrade Cut.Co 7359 with stainless blade and nickel silver handle
Schrade Cut.Co. 7353 with carbon steel blade
Ulster Sea Scout knife, also carbon steel

Nice Eric, I hadnt really seen the Cut Co version before.
I've got two mint 735 SS that came from the Schrade Sale and possibly the wall? Compared with the Camillus version. Hoo Roo

Those are nice.

I have several but unfourtunately none are Schrades.

The spike is used for working with lines, ropes, cords, splicing, tying knots, etc.

Knot tying is one of my hobbies, you can see some of my knives and knots here.

ea? i noticed yours does not have the release for the spike. when did this appear or disappear depending i guess?

Nice ones Larry!

I believe the locks first appeared in the mid-fifties under Schrade Walden.

Eric

Don, where the heck did you learn to do knots like that? Very impressive:thumbup:

Don, nice work. Those lanyards are pure class. I always put leather lanyards on my fixed blades. I like the look and lanyards make sense too. Way back in the early '90s I took a course in "rigging" which is knot tying with rope. To work in many construction jobs in Canada you need your up-to-date rigging certificate. I mention this because there are likely courses available nearly everywhere if people are interested. Fishing and knot tying go hand-in-hand too. The improved clinch knot, blood knot and palomar knot are my most used these days. I used to belong to The Isaak Walton Fly Fishing Club and learned a lot about knots there too both for normal fishing and fly tying at their yearly conventions. I only wish I could produce stuff like Luis though.

As a fisherman I like and use knots more than the average person I suppose, but I have never been able to find the instructions to tie a long square fob through the end of a fixed blade or on the clevis of a folder.
When you have arthritis in your hands like I do, it makes it easier to get the folder out of the pocket or the fixed blade from the sheath.

Don Luis,
I really like your knots, especially donn77.jpg & e9uhyd.jpg.
They would be great on knives.

Don,
You can hack any thread you want with the info you provide.
You were away too long.
Please stick around.

Lots of nice examples here!

Here is one of mine, Walden with the Ted Williams etch.

Don,
I agree with Larry, hijack any time you want, just stick around and keep posting!:thumbup::D

This is the rope knife I use most, from Sheffield, the flat shackler spike is handy for the cord I use.

I only have one from the USA, a Camillus, I find the lock release in this type (same as in the locking Schrades) a bit uncomfortable as it can't be folded out of the way.

I tied the flies in the background, though I haven't gone fishing for some 10+ years.
