STR, do you think you could switch a Spyderco Spin for tip-up carry? It looks like there is enough room to drill holes. Let me know if you need photos of the knife.

Yes please photos or a link always helps.

I can't keep up with all the knives but some I do know right off.

I don't recall the one you speak of so show me and we'll go from there. Thanks

No I don't want to go there. Those are thicker hardened stainless handles. I've had too many break taps and make a big mess. Those 2-56 taps break easy enough under ideal conditions. Sometimes I can't get those out when they break in stainless. I know there are guys that will thread it or try to but I'm not willing to try it once the liners go over .060 thickness. After that they really can be harder than or pretty close to the same hardness as the taps you are trying to use to make the threads depending on the steel. Others are no more than 45 Rockwell. I can't ever predict which it is and often times don't know until its too late.

Aside from all of this I don't have a drill bit that is the right size for the threader that could make the hole so without that its all for naught. None of my drills in that size will put a dent in that stainless handle.

Sorry

Not a problem. I appreciate your post. I might just take the clip off and keep it in my change pocket for now.
