spine strikes

Silly question: Which HI models are best for strikes with the spine of the blade? My 12" Siru flies in forward grip but the extreme point on the lower part of the butt & handle-to-blade angle prevents an effective strike.

Comments/suggestions/etc. from those more deeply afflicted with HIKV are VERY welcome!

All the blades are too curved to get an ideal strike. You might look for a villager that may be straighter,as they vary in shape sometimes.

For the handle, just get any of the bigger knives. The sirupati has that thin handle, but an ang khola or ww2 has a nice thick handle that you can grip any way you want without too much discomfort.

My AK's handle has an egg shaped cross section. When I grip the handle to spine strike, its sharper front side digs into my palm.
If you want a serious spine whacking, a cheaper model with its round shaped handle will suit better IMO.

My forward curver is a big knife, and has a more straight handle.I didnt know the AK had an egg shaped hande.I can hold mine all the way at the bottom, with a reverse grip and the bottom wont dig in.Of course I have to krrp a pretty tight grip.I dont plan on using mine like that anyway, thats what my mag-light is for

Thanks to all for your input--the pix of the WW2 models & several others look as though they're a little straighter, so I guess one of 'em will have to be a project before I get a Kobra!

Uncle Bill & Howard: Many thanks for the pic & link. Looks VERY nice but probably a little heavy for my scrawny arms!

Mega Salyan! A solid blow with the spine, flats, or edge will get results.

Sorry, I really don't know but thought it would work well for your application.
