Spine Whack a Karambit?

Ok so I haven't seen the ol spine whack thread in a while. But when it was being debated I don't remember there being the Karambit folder around.

THAT seems to be a folder that should justifiably have to pass a spine whack test. I say that because a lot of the illustrations and videos I see use the back of the blade/knife in it's standard operation. Given the design and standard grip of the thing, this is one to worry about closing in on fingers.

I'm about to order one when this thought came to mind, why haven't I seen a thread on the merits of different folding Karambits? There are the different style locks in these: Liner, frame, and lockback. Has anyone done a spine whack on Karambits? Is the lockback impervious to spine whack failure? Is one brand more reliable than another? Think I'll hold off on getting one of these.

is a fixed karambit out of the picture? they can get pretty small and an IWB sheath will help with keeping the sheeple at bay.

AFAIK folding karambits come in all lock types. liner, frame, and lockback. i personally prefer the lockback as i believe it to be the strongest. liners and framelocks though unlikely may slip thus goodbye digits!

imho a lock back would fail before a frame lock, frame locks are probably the A#1 lock around, at least as good as a lock back if not better. are ya talking about accidental disengagement? again imho the frame lock is better. nothing against a lock back, but imho the frame lock has it beat.

Kerambits really ought to be fixed blades, IMO, and it seems strange to me that I can't find a cheap (~100) fixed blade kerambit. It would be nice to see a BM kerambit - the Axis lock is strong, and it has a weak detent and smooth action to facilitate deployment of the knife in a reverse grip.

an axis folding karambit would be cool, easy open and close compared to any of those locks (from the reverse grip). I am just guessing here but i think it would function well.

Im no karambit expert, just a thought.
