Spinning thumb stud on 889?

This is the second 889 I've had this happen to. The thumb stud/blade stop spins around and wobbles like a loose tooth. It looks like it's just a peened pin almost like a rivet. Is there anyway I can fix this myself or do I need to send it in? I love these knives and they've served me well but that little part serves as more than just a thumb stud and I don't want it walking away on me.

Oh and since the Strider partnership is no more is this model soon to be a thing of the past as well?

Send it in. The 881's that I have had used an obvious hex head to hold the stud, but they didn't use it as a blade stop either. I'm sure buck can fix it for you.

I can't help you with your question, but the 889 has been one of Buck's top sellers (as well as one of my favorites) so I hope they find a way to keep making it.
