Spiral..M43, question

Spiral, heres the handle of my M43. Its marked in the wood with an "M" or "W". Any idea what W is?
Im showing a small knife from a Kukri scabbard I have, does it look WW2 era?

No idea. some armourours mark or soldiers intial perhaps? & yes the karda could be ww2, but it isnt the style issued with m.43s.

It looks surprisinly clean & fresh inside the number 4 mark?

Its just the light angle.
I got it years ago, its OK
