Since so many Kershaw and ZT Products won awards at the show, but, my favorite did not...... I am going to give it my own personal stamp of approval on BFC.

I had the pleasure of handling the Camp Series of knives on several occasions over the show weekend and I am here to tell you that they are all fantastic, but, in my eyes the Camp 10 shines brightest.

The handle design is just about perfect. The palm swell is comfortable and the soft touch material is a great touch for hanging on to the knife for a few quick swipes with sweaty bare hands. If you are going to swing any camp knife for a long period, gloves are a must. So, with the rubberized inserts this knife will grip gloves well and give the user an excellent hand weld.

The three blade shapes are all different and purposed for a different use. No small medium and large here. You have a chopper, a bolo type blade and then a full on machete.

I will focus on the Camp 10 from here on out (and preface this by saying that jimmer would not let me chop anything). The balance and relatively light weight should make the Camp 10 a nice medium duty chopper that you can lash to your pack and carry all day without any major issues. The foward balance and the "sweet spot" all seem to be where they should be. The fit and finish on the show pieces was fantastic..... I have no reason to doubt that the full production knives will be any less. The sheath design is not finalized, but, from what I did see you will not be disappointed. The prototype sheath shows well and is a sturdy injection molded piece The real treat is the modular carry options that are bouncing around at the moment..... if they fully come to be, there will be an option for normal belt carry AND drop-leg carry (It may or may not happen, but, it is an exciting notion). Rivet holes are also available for lashing it to your pack.

At this price point you could expect something quickly thrown together without much thought.... It happens alot in the bargain camp knife area of the market. After speaking with most of the people involved, I can tell you.... This knife was thought about, obsessed over, and every thought and consideration was given to making this a product worthy of a much higher price tag. The price being as low as it is, if you are in the market for something of this nature, this would be the one to buy one for the truck, one for your pack and one for your tool shed.

I'm looking forward to it hitting the market, so, I can buy a couple and beat the snot out of them. :)
