Wow, what a show! It was my first knife show so I have nothing to compare it too but I was impressed. First thing going on when we got there on Saturday morning was the sharpman contest. There were about 8-9 contestants and to my supprise Jerry Fisk is doing the officiating (first time up close to a living legend!) I did not recognize all of the contestants but John Fitch was among them, and he was hard to miss wearing a makeshift Kilt :D It was quite impressive watching those guys just give a little flip of their wrist and lop off a section of 1" rope. The 2x4 cutting was a little slower than the ones I have read about in KI, because the boards were wet.

After the competition I went inside and checked out the custom knives. I Introduced myself to to Terry Primos who is a great guy to talk to. He sold all but one of his knives in the first 3 hours on friday, so I only got to hold one of his knives. It was a working knife so it was plain by design but butiful in execution!

I joined the ABS at the end of the day and was asking the lady at the table if there were any master smiths in my area and she introduced me to Dickie Robinson who lives just West of Amarillo. He is a great guy too and makes some realy wicked fighters. He said he would give me a shop tour sometime as soon as the harvest is over!

Thanks guys for reading this long rambeling post, and sorry I have no pictures to add. My wife had the camera with her and the kids at the Zoo! :D
