Hello all. Just thought I would send a small report on the show. Excellent! I had a great time even if I did not sell out. I will have some pictures in a few days. Cutting competition and all that, which Reggie Barker won by the way, with Dickie Robinson taking second. Myself doing dismally, not the knifes fault but mine for not getting the right edge geometry and technique problems. The ABS was well represented and won a number of awards, and the banquet was great especially the entertainment section. Kilts were involved and thats about all I can say. Met some great people and had a really good time. Just beautiful knives which you could hold and fondle. I will post another report with pictures in a few days.

Thanks for the report on the cutting contest also. I have been wondering who won it. Reggie and Dickie have both been contenders in many of the cutting contests that they have been in. Maybe Jerry Fisk will come in later with a blow by blow description of the events. :) Hopefully I will not have to miss any more of them as I do enjoy it.

It's me; not jerry. The first event was the usual 2x4 chop. Had a 20 second cutoff time; only Dickie and Reggie made it in under 20 seconds. Some very tough 2x4's. Next was an empty can cut; horizontally. Several guys missed hat cut. A brick of paper sheets was the next cut. Deepest cut into the block won. Very, very tough cut. Cutting a ping pong ball in half laying on the table was next. an embarrassment not to hit the ball. Next was a simple rope cut. I think some of the guys blew it off as too easy and got bit by that one two. That is kinda the rundown. mike

Thanks, Mike. I am glad to hear from you. I sure do miss going places. I am going to try to come to the fall hammer in, just kind of depends on how things go.
I appreciate the report and I do know about the embarrassment of "missing" the object. :). Hope to see you in Washington.

We thought it was totlally groovy, man. That is my wife and I. Saw an old friend; Allan Elishewitz - who made our son's 1st custom blade, 5 yrs ago. And made new friends as well. Can't wait for next year. Woodlore & BellaSky :D
