Would anyone be able to put up a shot of the new Spitfire compared to the Vantage? According to the specs, they should be right around the same size but I am curious of the thickness and all.

I'd like to see this as well. I think they should be just about the same as you surmised, perhaps thickness-wise, the spitfire will be thinner due to solid aluminum handle vs. liners/scales construction.

Yep, looks like I got impatient and went and ordered myself one. I will post the requested photos up later this week when I get it. I am kind of excited for it. Definetly will be the brightest knife in my collection.

Yeah, it seemed like you were destined to get one anyway, so it was a good move.

My pics don't show it, but the Vantage is thicker than the Spitfire.

Here is the onlslaught I managed so far. Seems my knife came in very early(cudos to Knifecenter).

I like the initial feel of the knife but I do have to admit that the Vantage feels better in the hand. Things I like would definetly be the color and the raised "thumb" portion of the blade. The clip is really long in comparion to the Vantage, but I like that. Overall, a great knife for the price tag and made in the US to boot, :D

I like the aesthetics of the Vantage better...

I do as well. I do have to say that the Spitfire fits pockets much better due to it being thinner. Unfortunately, the wife saw the new knife and has now claimed it as her own. :P

What about the internals? Brass washers or some type of ball bearing system? Are there steel liners or just the aluminum scales? Does it have a smooth action? How is the lockup?
I just gotta know. Thanks in advance.

The pics don't show any liners and at this most excellent price point I'm betting it has washers like the Vantage series. Does Buck even use bearings in any of it's folders?

Yes, sorry my camera is not really that great for real close up shots. Badhammer is correct, the washers appear to be the same as the ones in the Vantage, copper or bronze color, and the handles are just slabs of Aluminum without any liners. The opening is smooth for a lockback and locks up tight without any play. The knife is very thin in relation, but fits the hand well enough. At the price point, these are awesome knives. This is the second day the wife has used it at work and for cutting boxes and such, it seems to work just fine.
