Does anyone know where I can get a small set of spline wrenches to fit my Microtech knives?

Thank goodness! Somebody else who can't find spline keys! My local Sears doesn't carry them, I haven't checked Ebay yet, anybody else out there got a source for spline keys?

I bought a nice set from www.jensentools.com
cost me about ten bucks, and has itty bitty ones upto a pretty big one...On a side note, why the heck do companies use these things? It seems that certain companies go out of there way to find screwy fasteners to put their stuff together...go figure...

If youse guys are talking about torx screws the logic is that they won't round out as easily as allen heads. I bought a size 15, 20, 25, 30 at a local auto parts store long ago that is screwdriver form with a handle that carries the bits. Namebrand Master Mechanic. A couple of weeks ago I needed a long-reach variety for a chainsaw clutch and found a Ecklind set in sizes 10 through 40 at my local hardware store. About $10 and is a foldout type like a set of allen wrenches. The salesperson wasn't aware he had them so look near the allen wrenches.

I posted to your thread in Shop Talk, and gave you the info I think you are looking for.
Check my post there.

Hope this helps.

Not torx screws.. look like em, but they arent the same, and drivers are hard to find...

Geez, yet another type of head? Can you tell me what they look like? I'm sure I'll run across them sooner or later.

Nice site dano. One for the Favorites.

Spline drive looks kind of like negative transmission gears to me. Most all Microtechs use them. Look at them under a magnifying glass to see them good. Got mine at Jensen.

The only place I know of to get spline drive wrenches is Danforth screw and bolt co . Dont have the phone number handy, you should be able to find them on the net if you still cant e-mail me and I'll dig it out
