Here is a very well done video by Mr. Turley showing how to split large wood with a small axe. Yes many of us already know, but some do not..

Anyway, I thought I would share his video as I enjoyed it. It was a good way to get a fire going quickly, with out searching for a bunch of smaller diameter dry twigs in a forest dominated by Deciduous trees.

Great vid Iz:thumbup:

Thank you so much, Damian.

(Love the song just can't put my finger on the name. Hate that.)

sounds like a remake of house of the rising sun to me but not sure.

Edit: beaten to the punch and i hate that lol

Reminds me of a song:

Why boasteth thyself
Oh, evil men
Playing smart
And not being clever?
I said, you're working iniquity
To achieve vanity (if a-so a-so)
But the goodness of Jah, Jah
I-dureth for-I-ver

So if you are the big tree
We are the small axe
Ready to cut you down (well sharp)
To cut you down

These are the words
Of my master, keep on tellin' me
No weak heart
Shall prosper
And whosoever diggeth a pit
Shall fall in it, fall in it
And whosoever diggeth a pit
Shall fall in it (... fall in it)

If you are the big tree, let me tell you that
We are the small axe, sharp and ready
Ready to cut you down (well sharp)
To cut you down

(To cut you down)

(To cut you down)

These are the words
Of my master, tellin' me that
No weak heart
Shall prosper
And whosoever diggeth a pit
Shall fall in it, uh, bury in it
And whosoever diggeth a pit
Shall bury in it, uh (... bury in it)

If you are the big, big tree
We are the small axe
Ready to cut you down (well sharp)
To cut you down
If you are the big, big tree, let me tell you that
We are the small axe
Ready to cut you down (well sharp)
To cut you down
Sharpened ...

Thanks, Tony. Much-o aprreciate-o , my friend.
I should have taken the big axe, I knew better but I was lazy and didn't feel like carrying it. Being lazy on the front end of things always makes me work harder on the back end of things....you'd think I'd learn the lesson eventually.
Thanks again for the post, brother.

p.s. That first version was by Sinead O'connor.

good video for sure. it definitely shows you don't always have to have the right tools to get the job done. though they often make it so much easier :)
