Sponsoring Retailers???

Call it a senior moment. Chalk it up to being almost 10:30 and I am still at work. Hell, it might even be contagious viral stupidity.
But I can't seem to find a listing, category, page, forum, or even a pop up window that lists who the sponsoring retailer members are . Could swear I saw it before, but can't find it now. Anyone care to help a poor mental invalid out and get him un-lost?

I'm asking in part, because I tried purchasing two knives from an online dealer recently and they botched the job. Sent 2 knives. One the correct knife I ordered, the other not the one I ordered. Simple enough problem and fix right? You would think so. But I'm on the 7th or 8th email and they still haven't figured out the problem, and responded in a way that shows they finally understand the problem and what needs to be done to correct it. If it weren't for the fact that I am a paying customer, I would swear the employee responding to my emails is a disgruntled troll, intentionally being obtuse just to get me PO'd. Which is still a possibility I 'm sure.
Anyway, I thought I would check to see if they were a supporter of the forum, before writing a flaming review of their performance. Which still seems like a good idea.... if I can find or get directed to such a list on the site. Anyone able to help or did I just imagine the whole retail dealer member list?

I think that this is what you're looking for. As for the second part, I'm sorry you had a bad experience with a retailer, but unless they were directly disrespectful, you can just comment on the quality of that retailer's experience

Yes thanks for the link @Mr.SATism & @Casinostocks!
And no, I had no intention of being disrespectful myself. But I am brutally honest at times which might be worse in the long run. lol Any review I do will give my opinion on the service, but will also contain examples or the reason why. IMO, reviews posted that spout off derogatory, or for that matter, superlative statements but give no reason or basis for those statements are worthless and far less credible. For example:

1. "Retailer sux" = Is worthless as a review of anything. Could just have easily been a typo instead of "super". Hard to tell given the intellect of the reviewer.
2. "Don't do business with them! I bought a knife, and decided after using it only a couple of months that I didn't like it, and they wouldn't let me return it for a refund." = Review that says volumes about the writer who is unrealistic at best, nothing really about the seller.
3. "I won't buy from them again. they messed up the order, which happens to the best of them. But taking 2 months to resolve a simple order mix-up? Sorry, that is bottom of the barrel service IMO." = Though somewhat lacking in detail, it is a review to pay attention to. Identifies the problem. Identifies additional problems. Provides a basis for a bad review.

BTW, the review I was intending to post was not on the Forum. But now that I know they are not a sponsor, I feel less inclined to go easy. Also had a hope they were a sponsor so that they may have had an alternate point of contact to try and resolve the situation.

If the previously mentioned link is the latest listing of all the sponsoring retailers, Why is it 2 years old? And why don't they have a section under the membership tab so that they are in a logical place to look for them? Would give them a boost in the promotion they obviously want and are paying for. The Manufacturing members for example are far easier to find. Plus it would probably induce other retailers to join if they saw more obvious examples of promoting their businesses for their advertising dollars. Just a thought. :)

My 2¢ Dan: I frequent many parts of the exchange, if only to view all the beautiful blades. On first web page for the exchange you have the option of For Sale By Dealers/Makers/Individuals. If I wanted to find dealers (which I did just now from reading this thread) I would go to their forum and boom there's the list of them as a sticky. I have never seen or looked for a List of Members and tried to sort people out that way. It makes more sense to me to go to their respective forum, which got me the info I wanted.

@Spark any updates vendor list? The thread above seems out dated.
Wait... you're telling me there are more approved vendors than the ones listed? I wouldn't have expected the vendor ecosystem to expand (which is not a complaint, and gives me reliable people to order from:))

You have no idea how much I LOATHE 1&2! People are people, and if they are a legitimate business, you have to understand that they are trying their best. If it doesn't work out, lay out what happened, note that you're moving on and move on. (Rant start) I work in a certain caffii place outside of a mall, and the bad reviews we get are usually linked to being shorthanded and extremely busy. I'm sorry that we can't get your sweets to your mouth fast enough, but trust me we are moving as fast as our machines let us! (Rant over)

Man, what we need are a subforum where people could ask their tech support questions about the site, and another one where people could discuss their experiences (Good or Bad) with dealers, sellers, and individuals they've bought, sold, and traded with.

Somebody should get on that.

Are people (not me, I haven't paid yet), allowed to drop non-paid dealers' names?

Discussing your good or bad experiences with or looking for feedback on a particular seller is fine.

Deal spotting or to shill for a non paid dealer is not.

Well put! Like I said, we do need a subforum where people can ask for clarifications on site rules and stuff along those lines!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with a retailer. Those sorts of problems are never fun and shouldn't happen in the first place. I hope you eventually received the knives you were looking for though. In my opinion, supporting BF Dealers is always the smart way to go ;)
