So am outta town for the night and rolled through a wally world and saw a skyline discounted to 25 - gonna pick it up on my way out tomorrow. Yay? Nay? Been on the fence about grabbing one but the ten bills off seemed like a sign! May be the regular price but not what I've seen online...next in line are izula , bk2, and prob either Fallkniven F1 or S1 or esee rc-4...thoughts on any and all (preferably all esp the Fallknivens vs esee) welcome and encouraged!! Thanks all!!

Can't go wrong with a $25 Skyline, as it's worth the regular $35.

This. It's worth it's regular price and definitely an excellent deal.

Comes sharp out of the box. You can open with the flipper or thumbstuds, although with the thumbstuds you have to flick it out at a certain angle and put a little wrist into it. Locks up solid and has a nice sized liner. G-10 provides just the right amount of traction, although I personally like a little more. And it's light as a feather...well just about. Great bang for the buck imho. ;)

Just wanted to update all who replied (i realized i never followed up!) that I picked up that skyline for $25! It seems like a great knife (sharp, light, sturdy, love the handles and the choil like cutout in the grip), haven't put it to much use yet (easing it in!) but plan on it. The one I got seemed to have an abnormal bit of up and down play (when gently pushing the finger flipper when the blade is closed...not enough to deploy the blade but enough for it to shift up and down a bit), despite me tightening the pivot. so i returned that one for a different one which is much better, with an almost negligible amount of up and down play. has anyone else seen this in their skyline or other flipper opening blades? maybe i'm just being anal ha.

also, the first one was marked Dec 08, the second/current one is marked Jan 09. Didn't kershaw change steel in these blades at some point? anyone know when that happened, and what the change was? I'm hoping I made an upgrade in my exchange! either way, $25 very well spent!! thanks for the input!

Change in steel was March '09. All the ones on sale at my local Wally World were the older version. Possibly the reason they put them on sale - need to clear them out for the newer ones.

gotcha, thanks for the info! makes sense...not sure that i'd notice the difference myself, but i'm sure others would!

The Skyline has amazing ergonomics for my hands and the steel and shape of the blade is nicely done. Add in the G10 handles and you are set. If it was assisted opening it would be perfect for my tastes. As it is, the opening action is okay, but a little bit of a let down compared to the rest of the features.
